Srushti 2019
There are about 8.7 million species spread all around the world and wildlife photography helps us encounter a large number of these varied species of birds, reptiles and animals.

Wildlife photographers endure a lot of hardships and have to show immense grit, determination and patience to capture these wonders of the nature. This intense effort taken by the photographers battling the blazing sun, torrential rains and sleepless nights during the countless jungle safaris to put their best shot forward and show people the magic that happens in the natural world, deserves much more than just likes on the social media.

Srushti 2019 gives the photographers a chance to display their best work, helping them gain exposure and reach a wider audience in a direct and personal way.

This helps in not only getting recognition for the photographers and their valuable work, but also helps increase awareness about biodiversity, among the common people.

Recognition of the existence of the varied wildlife species will also help in the major task of conservation of depleting wildlife. Participate in Srushti 2019 to not only get your work recognised but also create a positive impact for preservation of the ecosystem.
 Who can participate?
This exhibition is open to everyone, irrespective of age, gender, profession or nationality!

Themes
Submit your photos under any of the following themes:
1. What is JPG/ JPEG format? How do I save my photo in .jpg/ .jpeg format?
JPEG (or also called JPG) is a commonly used image format or standard for digital images. Such image files have the extension .jpg (or .jpeg) in the file name. JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group, who created this standard. Most digital cameras, store the photo that was captured in JPG/ JPEG format. When you transfer your photos from your camera, to your computer, you will notice the files have a .jpg (or.jpeg) extension in the filename. In such cases, you don’t have to do anything – just upload the .jpg (or .jpeg) files to Pixlent.com, and submit them to the Contest Only if you shoot raw or use an image editing software (like Photoshop or GIMP, etc.), then be sure to Save the image file in .jpg (or .jpeg) format.

RGB stands for “Red Green Blue”, and sRGB stands for “Standard Red Green Blue”. RGB/ sRGB are colour spaces, which determine the colours which you can see on any screen or in print. These are the most commonly used colour standards and are supported by almost all operating systems, monitors, displays and printers. Most digital cameras, store the photo that was captured, in sRGB or Adobe RGB colour space by default. In most cases, you don’t have to do anything – just upload the .jpg (or .jpeg) files to Pixlent.com, and submit them to the Contest Only if you shoot raw or use an image editing software (like Photoshop or GIMP, etc.), then be sure to set the colour space to (Adobe) RGB or sRGB before you export or Save the image file as .jpg (or .jpeg) format.

Right-click on the image and then select "Properties." The same information is repeated under ‘Width’ and ‘Height’, in ‘px’ (short form for pixels) · ‘Colour representation’ will show the Colour Space – it should say sRGB or RGB or Adobe RGB.

You can reduce the file size of a JPEG photo by reducing (i.e. re-sizing) its pixel dimensions (height and width). Typically, if you re-size your image to 1200 x 800 pixels or less, your file size should come down to 1 MB or less. On a Windows PC, you can use the Paint application to re-size a JPEG photo. Ensure that ‘Maintain Aspect Ratio’ is checked. On a Mac, you can use the built-in Preview application. Be sure to keep the ‘Scale Proportionately’ and ‘Resample image’ check boxes checked You can also use a third-party application like IrfanView (free, on Windows) or any image editing software (like Photoshop or Lightroom or GIMP, etc). There are lots of online resizing tools that you can access with just your web browser (Internet Explorer or Safari or Google Chrome). Search for “resize image online” and you will find many such websites, where you can upload your image(s) and get them re-sized.
