Pixlent is where passion and profession meet. Dr Yashodhan Joshi, founder was always interested in photography and finally procured his first camera, the Canon 400D gifted to him by a satisfied customer. There was no looking back.
He enrolled himself in a basic photography course organised by the British Library in association with Lalit Deshmukh the well-known Fine Art & Landscape photographer. Encouraged by the results of the teachings by Lalit, Yashodhan then went on his first photography tour to Ladakh in 2012. It was an overwhelming experience to capture the stupendous beauty of Ladakh under Lalit’s guidance and it has been a rewarding journey since then.
Yashodhan then realised that progress in his passion was coming in fits and start since he only learnt when he was a part of the photography tours organised by Lalit. He realised that to gain rapid knowledge, every photo of his should be critiqued by experts, something practically impossible due to the vagaries of commitments of the student and his mentor. The idea of pixlent as a critiquing platform for photos was thus born. The idea was broached with Lalit during the photo tour of Spiti Kinnaur in August 2015 who immediately agreed to mentor the team.
Pixlent is a web based photo critiquing platform that enables the serious photographer to improve her skills and get guidance and feedback from well-known experts. Pixlent is teaming up with top professional photography experts to provide critiquing and reviewing services on a one to one basis using specially developed digital tools.

Sameer Belvalkar
Talk famous
photographers and Sameer Belvalkar is one of the top photographers
that come to the mind. Unlike other photographers in Mumbai Sameer
Belvalkar began his professional photography career as a press
photographer. Gaining experience as he was mentored by some of the
top photographers in Mumbai he was able to develop skills in
modelling photography, portrait and people photography, commercial
photography, advertising photography, fashion photography and
portfolio photography. Sameer Belvalkar has also had the unique
opportunity to rub shoulders with top names in bollywood, fashion
and advertising industry and over time he has emerged as one of
the best commercial photographers in Mumbai.
Photography is his life – for what it has been so far and what it
will become in the days to come. Sameer obtained a formal degree
in chemistry which helped him enjoy his time in the darkroom a
little better. The M.B.A that he did helps him in innumerable ways
in his profession as well as keep his finances in ship shape.
Sameer shoots with a difference – bringing his subject to life is
what he strives for. What began on a whim soon followed by his
first lens that cost him the earth and sky, which today provides
the bread, butter and from time to time, a little orange
marmalade.
Sameer thinks that he has been lucky to be in the right place at
the right time, but there’s been a lot of hard work in between
having come a long way from the days of film and retakes
unlimited, today the medium intrigues him far more than the
technicalities of photography.
And he lives by his motto, "The passion as always – is a self
sustaining organism. Feed it well, and it’ll grow with time."
